That approach works well in terms of compatibility, but my sense is that it's usually much slower than MathML, and with equation-heavy documents can be extremely slow. I might be unaware of something, though. MathML isn't perfect,

I've often thought that substance access needs to be completely deregulated, for drugs of abuse as well as other medications. This would increase access and competition among providers, and avoid rent-seeking kinds of economic problems

The danger area is conflating lack of success in a particular social setting with noncognitive skills. I.e., "this person lacks persistence" versus "this person has given up because this social setting is pathological."
