CES is very important for companies like the one I work for because it's an alternative to visiting 50 places in China, Taiwan and Europe when it comes to talking to component suppliers, contract manufacturers, ODM, JDM, etc. When you

(Spoken as if to a Google employee) — Someone will build them a search engine. In fact several someones have already. Your company doesn’t have to do it, and you don’t have to work for them if they do.

Have you used the Kindle app? You can do title search, look at details of books, see reviews, download sample chapters, and download Kindle Unlimited books directly to your library with one click. I presume what you _can_ and _can't_ d

In the Node/NPM world, this is pretty difficult. There are many ( many ) small libraries and everything you depend on brings in many more.

Let’s use the Kindle app as an example then. The app cannot link to their site when I search for a book I don’t have. If it did, the app would be banned. So Apple is trying to extract a 30% premium from Amazon and the only way for them to a

Sorry, but tables are awful in practice. I have to iterate all the elements to get a count? This is especially egregious when I’m using one like a list/array and need to know how far to iterate. Maybe there’s a better way I don’t know?

His reason for why he’s a vi guy was funny! (He only had 60M free for his Linux partition and emacs wouldn’t fit). It did sound mildly apocryphal but so did most of it. My reason for vi is equally random. I learned Unix at college, but I wa
