Possibly, but the essential service classification is not essential for the point to still stand. Someone thought it was essential enough to negotiate a no-strike agreement, and union thought it was essential enough to agree.

Workers intentionally choosing to disrupt a volunteer-based shift in a coordinated way is in no way the same thing as deciding not to volunteer for something.

Regarding the “work to rule” points, that isn’t being disputed though, is it? The dispute is that choices are being made as a result of a coordinated action, which implies a strike. “Workers who don’t volunteer are being threatened with jai

This headline seems to be a gross misrepresentation of the situation. There overtime seems to be voluntary (unless there are not enough volunteers, in which case it becomes a necessary part of employment) and by choosing to form a union for

We have this kind of censorship in India as well, even the in weirdly innocous places. In James Bond movies, and I think Gone Girl as well, scenes were by zooming into character's faces or just straight cuts. This is probably the only

Turn off Google's auto upload. The entire photos thing has long been a way to get images to train ML, and since they actively use these images you're not in a position of power here. i.e. you're doing Google a favour by using

This is currently just a side project, but yeah, if I have more than 10 buildings using it I'll probably take it seriously and bring in an (accountant cofounder).

So when an apartment pays, is 4 entries in the single transaction? Credit their apartment account, debit the bank account, credit cash and debit receivables? Never thought of making 4 entries for a single transaction.

> Each apartment is part of accounts receivable. Like a sub-account? This is probably the mindfuck part. So every apartment owner who opens up their statement is seeing a filtered balance?

Can someone help with a few ideas on this topic? I've been volunteered to be the treasurer at my building home owner's association, and trying to keep accounts for the whole building on a single excel sheet is a shitshow. So obvio

The way that I learnt the ins and outs of DynamoDB (and there is a lot to learn if you want to use it effectively) is by implementing all the Redis data structures and commands on it. That helped understand both systems in one shot. The key

Most of the changes aren’t relevant to upstream - a lot these companies seem to be using Postgres as a frontend over some kind of secret sauce, usually related to custom storage or deployments or the like. Postgres seems very modular and pl

Does this storage layer still require VACUUMing? The Aurora system that AWS has uses a log based storage system, so along with point in time restore there’s no longer a need to go free up old garbage rows. This system says it’s copy on writ
