Yeah, from the outside it seems like things had to be thinner and lighter to be Apple designed, in the same way that some programmers think they have to architect or optimise or <insert pet obsession> the heck out of everything. If yo

Certainly seems that way, but it's discouraging that Ive and Apple had to part ways just for Apple to get back on track. Very much a case of either dying a hero or living long enough to become the villian. I use this as a reminder not

I'd suppose any minority stake would be compensated the same way as a fraction? Similar to having stock options in a startup that's been sold. Even if it's an asset only sale, those people still own X% of a company that now h

Seems common in old English as well, have seen bible references, though I can’t remember them now, and phrases like “the quick and the dead”.

Depends entirely on the code and the context - if it's something like a library, mostly yes. There I already know what I want the library to do, and writing the test first is a great way to get a feel for what the ergonomics are like i

The article says each SKU gets its own codes (and my understanding is that Amazon maintains SKU metadata internally and all resellers sell against it). My guess would be a variation of skuUUID:itemUUID:sha1(skuUUID+itemUUID+skuSecret), enco

But isn’t this exactly the point of the thunderbolt ports? You can buy your external SSDs and get as fast (even faster if you RAID them) access to your data.

I think the simpler takeaway is that OR consistently represents a branch in the query planning, where the planner now always has to do two things and merge back instead of one. It makes sense for the OR operations to always preserve this in

It sounds incredibly toxic, though - Polytetrafluoroethylene. Would be nicer to just point lasers and the existing cans or glass bottles and be done with it.

Maybe slightly off topic, but Musk’s companies are likely to be the biggest human decentralizing force in history. Leaving aside that Spacex is trying to decentralise at a planetary level, the solar roofs and batteries allow you to live any

Yeah the fuse is the actual hosting and the second is the index page. So you could fork the repo, reach out to Cloudflare and start on newcdnjs.com for the index and newcdnjs.cloudflare.com for hosting.

CDN JS isn't the CDN. The gives you links and shortcuts to use other CDNs, like Cloudflare, MaxCDN, Stack-something and others. Don't think any of the libraries are served from CDNJS properties itself - how would they pay the bill

Each reporting system / products does its own reporting, and no plans of adding ELK integration right now, although we are moving to the ELK stack so it might happen. We think of it more as a database++ with financial primitives baked
