The reason I like this is because of one of the principles that Go espouses pretty heavily - never break backwards compatibility. If I install v1 of your package, I want it never to break. You can always improve performance, add more method

This view is not self-contradictory. It's possible to justify the statement that GitHub has been as much a net-positive to the software community as Git, although it's technically a centralisation of a decentralised system.

They don’t explain this, but the naming of AWS services indicates how modular they are. Services prefixed with “Amazon” are supposed to usable independently, while services with the “AWS” prefix need to be used inside the ecosystem.

Sort of, yeah. I usually consider zero-downtime to be ‘imperceptible to users’. This option is interesting, though, first I’ve heard of it. Thanks!

With downtime, I guess the pg_upgrade tool works fine. Without downtime / near-zero downtime is more interesting though. Since this is an old version, something like Bucardo maybe? It can keep another pg14 instance in sync with your ol

So Cloudfront at the base price is more expensive depending on the geography. That said, you can restrict your price class to class 100, let the volume pricing kick in, etc to get a maybe a 10% to 50% discount at huge volumes. Or you could

To be honest, I think the biggest draw will be for companies (like where I work) that put large objects on S3 and distribute it to hundreds / thousands / millions of customers. The egress direct from S3 is on the order of 8 cents

I know the Cloudflare team hangs out here, so thanks, and great job! This was absolutely necessary for my line of work. Couple of quick questions/confirmations: * R2 will support the same object sizes as S3? We have 500GB+ objects and

They've said it supports the S3 API, so yes, you could use it wherever you'd use S3 instead.

Speculation here, but I think WASM lends itself very well to JIT compilation, and V8 has one of the best compiler teams in the world.

If I understand correctly you use Stripe Issuing to give people cards that they can then spend with in a way that you control? How do people recharge their Justuseapp cards? You charge their real card and credit their virtual ones? And if o

Yup. The synchronous replication described in the docs will allow the configuration of a hot standby, but I don’t think it allows writing to the standby, which is what true master-master does.

If for always on or High Availability setups you want two DBs running that are in constant communication, with every write being committed on both machines synchronously - so if one of them goes down the other can take its place immediately

Think Apple has already seen the writing on the wall - both S. Korea & the US are now probably going to push back against the IAP restrictions, and they can / should do a couple of things, which might actually increase revenue. 1.

Think you’re looking for Bitcoin Lightning? From what I understand it’s another chain that collects and confirms transactions quickly and cheaply, then puts them on the main blockchain in batches.
