I think HN automatically imposes a limit on how much furthur down a comment chain an existing participant can comment in, to prevent heated discussions. So while I, somebody who hasn't commented till now, can reply to the reply to your

VR/AR won't become the Next Big Thing, but prices will have stabilized and demand in most developed countries will be steadily increasing. Will never become as ubiqitious as smartphones in developing countries. People will be happ

No need to be rude here. And I think Baker and people who know her well will be aware of "what she has done", not random commentators on the Internet.

I don't think legally the other developer is in the wrong but it does leave a bad taste in the mouth.

I assume they were making a remark that insinuated that people proficient in non-technical departments would be attracted to the other cofounder and work at your startup as a result of that attraction. Sorry if I misinterpreted the comment.

I look back on the views I held 3 years ago, the things I said and/or did back then, and I cringe immensely. I do not want anything I write to be irreversibly linked to my real name, especially on a website that doesn't allow one

I don't believe that her past actions need to be taken into consideration when wishing her the very best for the future. This is slightly unrelated to the point I was trying to make, but I don't think us commentors are entitled to

I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find a reasonable comment that did not immediately insult Mitchell Baker. I'm no fan of Baker, but the least we can do is wish her best wishes and hope for a great future for all partie

I don't think its fair to compare GPUI with Electron until GPUI goes cross-platform, since that's the main selling point for Electron.

I think telling them to grow up is a bit harsh, but yes a thread filled with jokes would not belong on HN imo.

Roblox is a lot more than just a game collection. The social aspect is a massive part of what made (keeps?) Roblox popular.

Just in case this comment gets flagged, here is the original text: --- Sigh. There are people who cannot program and fortunately for those people there is jQuery. Writing any kind of UI in vanilla JS is trivial and even more so with TypeScr

Only on HN do I find people who actually know what cryptography is. Almost all the people I know have never heard of it, but all of them have heard of bitcoin, and most have heard the word crypto being used with reference to cryptocurrencie

I think many people would expand the word crypto to cryptocurrency and not cryptography. We can argue on and on about which is the "correct" expansion but in my opinion a word's current meaning should be the most popular asso
