There are so many valuable videos that I would not rely Youtube (and the uploaders) to maintain those videos permanently on their site. For instance interviews with Niklas Luhmann or Feynman or Steve Jobs or Karl Popper and many many more.

The days are gone where every Gym and Club were setting up their „website“ on FB. Setting up a website these days is a non-issue with offers from wix.com etc. And local groups are moving to WhatsApp (I know it‘s owned by FB, but it doesn‘t

I didn‘t buy it at release time. I keep buying two or more generations later. - I love Apple products. They have an offer for many budgets.

Meanwhile my iPhone 7 Plus is doing great, running the latest iOS. All the apps I need are running smoothly, perfectly fine.

Ah, how humans try to find reason even in the most absurd situation: > According to it, the course of history has been arranged by God’s reason, to preserve goodness and eliminate wickedness. > When evil people apparently prosper, the

Oh, shoot, didn‘t think about my banking and authenticator app. Mission critical software.

Do we have to fear that some of our apps might not work on iOS 14?

Thank you for the book suggestion. It was recommended by Guido van Rossum recently: https://twitter.com/gvanrossum/status/1297043394712092672

Thank you for pointing to the Patreon and PayPal link. Was searching for ways to support the maintainer myself and found only the Patreon link that - as you indicated - does not work.

I higly depend on `helm-org-rifle' [1]. Lets me search trough all my org files (headars and content) and presents the results beautifully in a temp buffer. - Would be very sad if development of helm would stop. And yes, ivy is an aweso

The Emacs package `Helm' is/was maintained by one guy alone named Thierry Volpiatto who is not even a developer. He is 57, and a mountain guide in the Alps! See this rare interview from 2018: https://sachachua.com/

I started using it as an outliner. Then I added org-agenda to it, and migrated all my tasks from Things3 to it. Next I added repeated tasks, then org-habits, org-journal and some more. Incrementally.

Emacs + org has the potential to be the dream environment for everybody with a hacker mindset: Automate everything that has to do with text: Journaling, writing todo lists, parsing your Kindle highlights file (`My Clippings.txt'), writ

That‘s really sad. I thought only a company like Apple has the financial power and the balls to push back the ads industry. Apparently not.

Actually, „because he likes the language“ is a good enough reason. At least for someone with a hacker spirit. Liking a languange will motivate me more to look into all corners of that language and put my heart in exploring it instead of kno

Looks beautiful. Love functional languages (Elixir, Scala). Python is my day-to-day language. Gets the job done. But it‘s not my biggest passion to program in it. Too many inconsistencies for my taste.

Wow, seems phantastic. Love vimium in Firefox and all automation / keyboard remapping tools on the Mac (Keyboard Maestro, Alfred App, Karabiner Elements). Will definitely check this out.

The point I am trying to make is: Budgets are a good tool. Limits and boundaries are necassary to define a system, an organism, a project. And so in life it might be valuable as well to have a limited time to be on earth.

I have a youtube subscription, and although I can download and watch videos offline, I sometimes download kids stuff onto an mp3 player of my kid (Hoerbert, an offline mp3 player that looks like an oldschool radio). Also there are videos th
