For many people describing an app is the challenge itself. That’s why we have digital product managers who use formal methods like user stories to describe the system or write specs and requirements documents for engineers.

We have it on our work laptops. It’s decent. But it does not even have markdown editing out of the box. You need to install a plugin. I cannot do that without proper rights. Other than that it’s pretty good. Like BBEdit on a Mac. Edit: I ra

I have been using Emacs ever since I bought an Amiga in the 80s. I love Emacs and Elisp. Some 15 years ago I started using Orgmode heavily. But a lack of a mobile solution and it not being available ubiquitously made me go back to Markdown

Absolutely this! Actually the internet was driven by people who wanted to share their ideas, not by those who wanted to sell their ideas.

Just compared it to Perplexity which offers web search, can use many models to process the results, and presents results more beautifully. So ChatGPT‘s search looks rather rudimentary compared with Perplexity.

Pandora‘s box has been opened. Some say „this is mere tab completion“, some say „it won’t replace the senior engineer.“ I can remember how many fiercely argued 2 years ago that GenAI and Copilot are producing garbage. But here we are: These

I had ordered an M3 Max 14 inches with 48GB, 1TB, with 16-Core CPU, 40-Core GPU. When I picked up the device last week, the sales person told me I had the right to return it within 14 days because the M4 models were to be released soon. I h

„Manufacturing consent“, as Noam Chomsky has described it with regards to media. How many areas can you think of where the public is misled. „Yeah, sugar is not to blame.“ or „Smoking does not cause cancer.“ or „You need to eat meat for goo

I work in the health sector at a company with nearly 1,000 employees. In our IT department, we rely on a wide range of proprietary software and spend substantial amounts on Oracle, MS SQL, and other licenses. I’ve been trying to convince ma

We have Emacs/vim at one end of the spectrum and VS Code at the other. What else do we need? At this point I feel like these poor souls waste a lot of their energy to develop something that has perfect solutions already out there. Or y

With library genesis, who needs Google Books anymore? I buy books physically to support the author/s and download an epub version from said site to my kindle. The physical books I hardly read, they are for my shelf. Although I love the

That’s too much control for my taste. I don’t want anthropic to see my screen. I rather prefer a VS Code with integrated Claude. A version that can see all my dev files in a given folder. I don’t need it to run Chrome for me.

Ahh, here we go again: „Thousands of years ago jewish people populated the area.“ And that’s how nations define their borders in modern days? Who said it was one state? I said it was populated land. People lived there for centuries. Mostly

Constantly framing it as „complicated“ does not make it so. It was populated land, home to muslims, Christians, jews. One state for all. Until Zionism started colonising Palestine. And expelled Christians and muslims. First Zionists called
