You care comparing installer size. Typically an installer is considerably smaller than the installed app size and usually the installer is deleted. So it's not really worth comparing installer sizes. For comparison of installed size: -

You can use <script type=module> to target newer browsers. It’s definitely worth having two bundles because the ES6 and newer is much smaller. And one day, you stop shipping the old ES5 bundle.

I seem to recall one of the iPhone keynotes saying that the iPhone is most popular camera (as in most photos taken in a year) presumably by looking at EXIF. That sounds like Apple is aware of content creators using the iPhone.
