I'd written a JVM project a while ago that also spent an ungodly amount of time in GC. You can create bottlenecks almost anywhere given enough (lack of) effort. Who knows how finely tuned these projects were or what their load was li

Poor choice of function names are the easiest of problems to fix. Write an internal base framework that you use and strongly discourage the use of functions outside of it. Even if the new set of APIs are as simple as just forwarding the

This doesn't equal out to 2.5 billion people a day. One requests does not equal a unique visitor. For most cases that doesn't even equal one page load. I don't know where the 29k/s number came from but I guess its a p

Why did you find lacking in java on Play? I've just started playing with it and aside from the template engine (which I don't count) I haven't found any part of the java support lacking vs the scala.

You get into the habit of calling it golang because googling for "go" issues isn't very useful. Golang is the nickname that is (or at least was last time I did something in go) what the community tends to use for SO and blog

While ARM has a lot more momentum I wouldn't completely discount MIPS. They are still out there and churning away in places you wouldn't expect. If I remember correctly the PIC32 is nothing but a modified MIPS core.
