I don't think it's a bubble. There are no places to buy or to rent. Our major cities simply do not have enough housing. We have to build more, and higher interest rates make that even more difficult.

I'm not from the US and I just learned about the MOVE bombing a couple of years ago. It is one of the most fucked-up events in recent American history. I can't believe that they convinced themselves it was a good idea to drop bomb

The obvious solution with rats is just to kill them, but people aren't rats, so the analogy doesn't work. Safe injection sites are intended to stop people from dying and reduce the spread of communicable diseases, because people a

That's just it, I don't think you can do that. The equivalent of acute treatment for an MI in homelessness would be coralling them elsewhere or removing them from the city and replacing them with known good humans harvested from e

Given that ChatGPT was just released last fall and it was expected to revolutionize practically everything, isn't it still telling that usage is falling? Where are the scientists, lawyers, doctors, office workers etc? You'd expect

I think the neuroscience here has really gone through the pop-sci wringer. The original research was specifically about impulse control and not anything else. I think there has been some more evidence about pattern recognition etc recentl

Everything in the body is complicated. The history of medicine is rife with unintended consequences. Many body altering surgeries are entirely useless and dangerous. Over 40% of antibiotic prescriptions are off-label and fully 75% of all p

Dorsey's net worth is something north of $4B, not to mention all the connections he has for investment. Raising a paltry $8M was not due to the difficulty of procuring money; not to attempting to scale rapidly was a deliberate choice.

Most of those 7500 were not engineers. They were moderators, sales, support, HR, etc The moderation, whatever people personally think of it now, has certainly suffered from an advertiser perspective, which is why they left. It was a mistake

Political parties work quite a bit differently in Canada. The party structure, the part that purchases ads and such, is not the government. They can have opposing goals. One is governing, the other is trying to get elected. That's how
