"In a 2023 blog post, external, Palantir described the challenge of combining data from multiple government systems containing tens of thousands of visa applications and hundreds of thousands of accommodation offers." This is the

Even if it wasn't sycophantic this sort of thing should be checked outside of an LLM but how was he to know that ?

I don't know: we brand LLMs as "artificial intelligence", like it's the computer out of star trek. On this website most of us know what an LLM is and how it works, but I could well see a young person asking it for advice

Well - you converge to a system, but do that by pruning what you don't want. If you care about maintainability and quality (and I include maintaining using LLM based tools) then you need to understand what it does (in doing so you will

Interesting. I stopped doing local stuff for a bit when I realised I didn't know how well it is supposed to work so have been on Claude for a few months now. I think I'll try OpenCode this time. Usually I do stuff in devcontainers

Devs still have to maintain this code, the Python devs can definitely get the LLM to write (some kind of) Rust, but when it goes wrong and you hit the wall with the LLM then they can will have to learn Rust which might take a while, this so

A cynic would put this together with the plan to close all the NHSs source code: since the public wouldn't like further Palentir integration + be able to see it happening.

The whole model of slicing the app into so many pieces (proprietary wrappers it seems like) to make more opportunities for billing is terrible.

What harness are you using ? I'm going to switch to local LLMs for most stuff soon.

Harnessed seem to be a big part of what makes stuff good or not. I tried Cline and couldn't get it working well and part of this was that at the time it expected OpenAIs output format.

Nice. What did you use to do this, something standard like llamacpp or something else like vllm or your own contraption ?

I found a spectrum - starting from copying and not understanding things through to fully internalising them. One can travel from one end to the other.

If someone doesn't understand every bit of the PR they are submitting it should not be submittable - yes it takes time, but you are expecting devs on the other end to take more time than that. Though one plus point: a dev can ask the L

"What does work is a more interactive workflow where you’re clearly communicating with the model step by step, and giving it a lot of guidance. I’m sure that sounds pointless to many of you, why use a model where you have to babysit it

"no runtime, no GC, just" I am BEGGING every project to not have this LLMism in their docs. It reads as No X no Y just slop to me every time.

This is HTML very much as an output format though. What happens when my site changes style, I put it back through the LLM I guess and get some bonus hallucinated content.

Not sure if this was written with AI assistance of not, but I've become allergic to linguistic triples as LLMs use them so much, reading "Same code. Same input. Different answer" makes me not want to read the rest.

My German friend lived in the UK for a whole and went back for a bit. In a lift in Germany a lady tried on friends foot - friend said "sorry". The other lady said "Well, you shouldn't have been standing there".
