Been running nightly builds since I think 0.4 - makes web development ‘fun’ as you can never be sure if something works or not in a browser nightly build! Fortunately I don’t have to do that much any more.

I have had a few issues like that with software over the years, but nothing that there weren’t alternatives for. Never on hardware though. But you’re right, it can be a challenge.

Another option without Edge, Cortana and Candy Crush is Windows Server 2019 which is what I have on my Dev PC. I’ve always run desktop server when I could - back to NT4 - initially to avoid any differences between local behaviour and deploy

This is an excellent point. There is absolutely no way a browser which loads and executes ad-loading and tracking script can be possibly be faster than one that doesn't.
