I'm sad to say that some european hackers are reluctant to go to defcon because of the risk of being "registered" or even arrested.

At the press conference they had some vague idea about monetizing search and, with their new protocol, lowering peering costs for ISPs. They also claimed that the file-sharers themselves could get paid for sharing certain files. The investo

When similar event took place in Burma, the government there totally disabled the Internet. I've heard that Iranian economy is more dependent on the Internet then Burma's was. There are efforts by the pirate movement and others to set up pr

When you already have interesting people coming to speak, why don't you make a separate short interview or summery and publish? Would be great both as a promotional thing and as a "log" for the ones who were there.

I think one of the cooler things coming out of yahoo was the "Yslow" best practices. But the guy in charge of that left for google around late 2007, early 2008. From what I've read they seem to have "lost" a lot of other people too.

There are very few Swedish author who make a living being just an author. The basic premise for copyright is that if you take the time to make something, you get exclusivity for some time. Because creating things will hopefully benefit soci
