The politicians ignore the issues because they don't want to show weakness, because every time they try, they just end up sounding ridiculous. There is a huge knowledge gap between Sweden's youth and Sweden's politicians. Even the son of the prime minister joined the "Free The Pirate Bay"-group on facebook :)
