I am not Chris, but maybe I can answer the Hotwire and LiveView difference. Hotwire is building stuff from regular HTTP requests (ala AJAX) and uses WebSockets only for Turbo Streams. LiveView is all on WebSockets. You can think of Hotwire

I used Pandoc + LaTex for https://deploymentfromscratch.com/ as mentioned in the post, but my brother is now taking the AsciiDoc approach and I think it's looking good. I will think hard next time and most likely give

You are not wrong. But if you make an RPM, you can then easily make a container containing the said RPM ;)

I personally really had to fight off clueless technical decisions from non-technical leaders, so it depends on where you are coming from.

Would be cool to know the differences to Ruby's HexaPDF. One is certainly the license.

Podman is a great Docker alternative. That's why I already included it alongside Docker in https://deploymentfromscratch.com/ . It fits nicely in the world of systemd services where Podman let's you run the contain

I somewhat agree. That's why I chose Bash in teaching people deployment. It's better to go back to basics, and then if you know how things work, can choose (or write?) a higher level tool you like.

Hi. Almost everything in the book is still applicable. You would probably have a Debian based-distribution there, but if you already use APT, there is no trouble switching from DNF. Debian is systemd based so most things apart from package

You don't need special talent to do that. I actually have a mention of this in my book on deploying Rails ( https://deploymentfromscratch.com/ ). Here's a one liner with ruby-install: $ sudo dnf install -y jemalloc-
