> Discord is a running joke on comparatively less-frequented communication protocols like IRC (possibly just out of spite, but all the same). To be fair, most of those other communication protocols are running jokes outside of tech.

I couldn't find any articles agreeing with you on the GBA aspect, and I think you're overestimating the "adult design change" versus "you can now play video games without having the perfect light source" aspect

The mall down the street from my old apartment had one. It was small and discrete though; I passed it plenty of times before realizing what it was.

MapleStory had a "cash shop" in 2004, not loot boxes. Very common design at the time, it was just an in-game store that only took real money in return for items. MS was actually somewhat famous at the time for having a fair, cosme

Pidgin/libpurple worked a lot better when most chat services were variants of XMPP. Now everything's proprietary and hostile to unofficial clients. Most Matrix bridges have to do stuff like scrape the webapps to work.

I think AV-98 has a setting or function for dumping the raw results of a gemsite. But I think the main reason there's no example is because there's very little to show. Just make a text document and if you need to link to somethin

Go supports "vendor" folders for storing dependencies locally after initial download. That combined with Go Modules means you can handle everything locally and (I believe) reproducible.
