We'll never have the same experience as Alias when we no longer have to revolve our schedules around the broadcast time!

Oh wow, I forgot about this. Syzygy was supposed to be like PMOD but higher speed capabilities. I actually put it into a design, but never got around to fabricating it. https://forums.sifive.com/t/friscy-new-high-perfor

I feel like this goes for personal life too. My particular problem du jour: some parts internal to my lawn mower engine crankcase self destructed and the engine needs a total rebuild or replacement. I replaced the camshaft 2 years ago with

I understand exactly what you mean. I think I had to read/learn how to interpret Maxwell's Equations many times before it started to click (and even then, a refresher every so often is useful). Feels to me that the electromagnetis

Pretty sure I had Prof. Orfanidis for a DSP lab back in the day. I don't remember much from that lab aside from playing with some old DSP dev boards and creating positive audio feedback ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is discussed in the book Chip War at length. I believe the answer was that if it were possible at all, it's going to be at least half a decade behind. There were a lot of other supply chain considerations which would likely apply

Thank you so much for this! I'm constantly needing to Google for torque specs when I work on my van, and as great as the Odyssey forum is it's really nice to have this. I really appreciate it, personally. I do all my own work, and

This is a new "intrusion" and in fact it even happened on my work computer (Win 11 Pro). I was shocked to see it the other day, but honestly I shouldn't be. We see Microsoft pushing out their AI copilot thing, putting a pride

For real... My dad's still got his '97 Ranger (that I learned to drive on) and I told him that if he ever decides to sell it, I'll fly out and drive it back instead.

As much as I love trucks, it seems that their price is extremely inflated (likely due to their utility as a work vehicle). Depending on your use case, I can highly recommend a minivan. I have an '07 Odyssey that we need for the big fam

The size of Pileated makes it so special to see! We're fortunate to see one a few times a year - my wife saw one this week but I didn't make it upstairs in time to get a glimpse.

If I understand correctly, you're concerned about using older peripherals with a newer motherboard/CPU? If so, the PCIe spec requires backwards compatibility so it should still work.

I'm seeing a fun resurgence of popularity with regards to deeply technical semiconductor articles here on HN lately! Seems almost daily there's a new semi engineering article or similar. Slightly related to this article, if anyone

Oh man I feel this... My big thing is observing and pointing out how few men's restrooms have diaper changing tables. Some places are awesome with it, or with private family restrooms for this purpose. For the other places... Let'

I saw a video this morning with the new features and I'm blown away at the rate of improvement. I started using KiCad with v4, and it worked but was clunky. Now, it's such an incredible tool. I tell anyone looking for PCB software

Pretty dang close, propagation delay is often given as a percentage of the speed of light (c). Here's a fun table with a comparison a few pages into this PDF: https://www.commscope.com/globalassets/digizuite/2
