Nobody over-promises (or under-promises for that matter) when the meaning of units and prefixes are clear. Division by powers of 1000 ceased to be an expensive operation relative to user interaction a very very long time ago. And even back

Yes, nuclear fusion. But deployment on a wider scale will happen after (possibly long after) switching almost fully to renewables.

I think its Apples turn to respond. I don't see this as anyone elses responsibility. Until then, all available data clearly points to a premature death of many M1 machines.

The math is wrong. If we can't identify most of the people that have immunity by infection, then we have to assume they will also be vaccinated and so we can't just add the two numbers.

Gotta love victim blaming. The problem isn't complicated tax laws, the problem is that the governments making them are national entities that have to answer to their national voting population and companies like IKEA are international

These are probably people that don't want to live a healthy lifestyle and no amount of pointing at the negatives will change that. Their point isn't "healthy lifestyle doesn't help" but rather "some people beat

While 1-based index is probably easier to learn and understand for a beginner, even as a beginner there is quickly an overhead where you have to adjust indices by 1 all the time as soon as you do any math on indices. Going from Basic to C w

Sure, in the same vein as building a dam is water suppression. It doesn't take away any right, it's about the limits of a right. You also suppress freedom of speech indirectly when you put someone in prison, so any crime punished

How does the state exert power over the broadcasters if their income doesn't come from the government? Edit: When I say 'how' I don't mean 'why', I mean 'by what means'.

I created a binary serialization format and library that is comparable to json but binary. It uses 1-byte tags to give type information, which often already contains the value (in case of 0,1,true,false,null,empty string, empty list, empty

Since C++20, the end iterator doesn't have to be the same type. Instead it can be something like a tag with no own runtime data, and comparing with it can be implemented as asking the other iterator if it is 'out of data'.
