I've just imported some of my open source projects from GitHub to GitLab, not because I'm in panic mode due to MS, but because i wanted to try out GitLab again already for some time. I've used it once 2-3 years ago for a shor

Isn't Snow Leopard a complete myth? Back then they told to the public, that this is only a polish release, but they introduced the built-in anti virus solution, a complete rewritten Finder and QuickTime for example. I remember that Sno

Can confirm that Mozillas review process is the most sofisticated i’ve ever experienced. The good thing is that when they have something to complain you have a competent person on the other side that really helps you. Not like Apple who onl

But isn't the whole mobile story so far telling us, that it's more important to build something which just works good (enough) for the people, instead of building something which they are already familiar?

I am not very optimistic that this would ever be a big thing. I see two possibilities how this could happen: 1. Someone would write a 100% source compatible swift version for the JVM or at least a large enough subset leaving out the parts w

Not really atm. There is a small community around server-side-swift which did some impressive work so far, most interesting project is IMO the Vapor Framework [1], but at least outside the Apple Dev community they didn’t get much attention

Bookmarked, nice! A little design feedback: I think the font-weight for the content of the posts is too thin. Yeah ok it's apple stylish, but not very comfortable to read from my point of view.

So Mosaic was also a local file browser? I always thought this stupid idea to combine web and local file browsing into one app was invented by Microsoft and then later adopted by KDE (Konqueror)...

Using vim is like driving a car with manual transmission. The first time you do it, it seems so extremely complicated and you think you never would be able to be fast with it. After some time you are got used to it and you think it‘s imposs

What annoys me is that this esc capslock swapping option only shows up on macs with touch bar. If I should get used to it I need it on all of my machines.
