The update notification on macos can be removed by drag and dropping it out of the screen. But it will show up again (after 24h IIRC) if you don’t change your auto update settings.

I've only noticed some UI glitches in some of the apps i am using including ones i personally developed. I can only speak for the later, but it was due to scruffy code which never should have worked as expected.
