To clarify, there is broadband up here in hills, but it is very unevenly distributed. I lived near the top of a mountain in the same area, and was finally able to get cable after pestering Comcast for a few years. The guy that bought the la

Or part of the broke. You can try and help fix the system (and probably fail) while your children suffer, or you can opt out of the system altogether and make sure your kids have the best education you can provide for them. Many people make

Syncing music from iTunes to Windows Phone now. That's a nice way to help break the iPhone lock in.

I thought they were switching back and forth between the HTC and the Nokia... I wasn't really paying attention, but I'm sure I saw a big yellow phone at some point.

I'm surprised they didn't cancel to keep from competing with the hurricane. On the other hand, there's not much other news than the hurricane, so it might be a smart move.

I remember being the guy on the other side of the counter at a small mom and pop computer store in the mid nineties that catered to local small and mid-sized businesses. We always had fresh coffee and pastries, huge leather bound chairs to

I'm in the same boat. I'm personally holding out for the Surface Pro, but the RT is very tempting.

The author is obviously pointing out the he (or she, I didn't look) sees the surface as being more than a content consumption device and possible contender as a desktop/laptop replacement. No need to be overly (and wrongly) pedantic.

For 90% of the working world, I'd say that is a true statement. I personally need compilers and geeky utilities, but my boss could probably get by with a browser and a copy of MS Office just fine. My bosses boss definitely could.

How about a FAQ? "It looks and behaves like a traditional SQL database from the outside but under the covers it's a revolutionary database solution." Doesn't tell me a whole lot. Please explain what is revolutionary about it.

Oddly enough, I bought a MacBook last year, and there was no way for me to not buy OSX. I don't need it, and I don't want it. I installed Windows 7 immediately after getting it. Of course, I knew that when buying a MacBook I would end up pa

I had totally forgotten about that, although I have seen WebForms used in an MVC site as well. I did NOT intend to imply that it was a replacement for WCF. I meant to imply that it is a replacement for the WCF REST Starter Kit, and if MS di

They're not really. WebAPI is built on top of MVC, but uses some different base classes (which is annoying as hell at times). [Edit] Plus what vyrotek said [/Edit] I think it has more to do with getting uptake among the WCF crowd than anyth

Of the three I would recommend the Software Craftsmanship Group. There's beer, and last year we did a intense scotch tasting. Plus it's technology agnostic (although samples tend to be in .NET because Knoxville), it focuses less on technolo
