This seems to suggest that these investors are doing some form of value investing in VC. VC doesn't work like that. In order to survive (and prosper) as a VC it takes picking and investing in Apples, Googles, Facebooks, Amazons, Airbnb

I don't write software. But if I owned the WSJ (or any publication) and a subscriber shared an article here-and-there on a forum I personally wouldn't be mad. Perhaps doing so would even lead to more subscribers.
