Skoda is part of the VW group, as are Audi and Seat. There are some common parts used across the group, from chassis and engines down to much smller elements. But the different marques have different feels and appeal to different markets. S

I discovered Ruby in 2001. It's been my go-to language ever since. I can write in other languages (mainly C, C++, Python and Haskell), and most certainly read a multitude of other languages, but Ruby just hits the spot.

Now here's a question: Suppose we trained the open AI model on the entire corpus of pop hits from about 1960 onwards. What are the chances it would get sued for copyright infringement. If the derivative nature is clear in the same mode

I think I like SQLite as it is. It's a great piece of code. And I think using the Rule of Benedict as a code of conduct is perfect. All these young'uns reinventing the wheel...

You know, that's a pretty despicable attitude. The coroner's judgement (which I'm presuming we will see in more detail soon) basically calls attention to the fact that social media algorithms (which are designed to maximize e

Quite frankly, you are hugely privileged to be earning at that level. The median average salary in the UK is just under £26k. Also, when you are that income level, there are a number of tax benefits you can enjoy - for example the first £40

Many more than that. Pre-pandemic Bath was quite busy in the mornings. Only 75 mins from Paddington, good comfortable trains, and always a seat, so you could work. What's not to like

That'sodd. I travel on French trains regularly (Both TGV and local). I have always found the French train system to be easy to navigate, and clearly signed. The trains departures and platforms are always on big screens in the stations.

Hmm. A few thoughts. There are alternatives to the Prussik such as the Klemheist which don't jam as badly. I wouldn't use a ring bend - the double fisherman's is superior for tying rope or cord ends together to create a sling

Just tried it on VSCode. The Penumbra light doesn't map very well in a few places. If you open the "Editor Playground" page, some of the code samples have some pretty unreadable sections, because the background grey is too cl

For OLAP applications (heavy on reads, pretty much no writes) I find a local SQLite has far superior performance to eith cloud based Postgres or SQL Server instances. YMMV.

There is an interesting development going on to electrify some of the UK rail lines - an OverHead Line (OHL) - battery hybrid system. The idea is that you have a standard electrified OHL system where it is easy and cheap (!!!) to install. P
