I've seen a flood of voice cloning shit-posts, e.g. Trump, Biden and Obama at Six Flags, or all those remixes of The Missile Knows meme. The existence of audio deepfakes is well-known among Gen Z, at least, but perhaps less to older ge

It's infuriating seeing non-profits gatekeep datasets that were compiled with grant money. At least Elsevier doesn't present itself as a charity. I was recently trying to get my hands on the Switchboard and Fisher conversational s

I can't find evidence of this. it looks like RN was founded by Jean-Marie Le Pen, who was too young to serve in WWII. He has said a lot of antisemitic things though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Marie_Le_Pen

Is blackface really accepted in Europe? Like, minstrel shows with white people putting shoe polish on their faces and acting like a bunch of stereotypes? saying "mammy?" surely not, right?

the BMW motorcycle HUD doesn't have text that pops up unexpectedly, as far as I can see from the demo video. quite the opposite: the HUD stays in one place, and it only displays speed and navigation info, and it doesn't seem very

in the West, "politically incorrect" means that a topic is liable to offend people. examples include HIV rates (LGBT people), racial crime statistics (racial minorities), shari'a (Muslims), etc. in contrast, Tiananmen square

You don't even need an LLM. You can use Word2Vec, or even yank the embeddings matrix from the bottom layer of an LLM. And you can use CLIP and BLIP for images and audio, respectively.

HUDs like this are already common on fighter jets, and even some passenger aircraft, precisely so you don't have to look away to check gauges. Are you saying riding a motorcycle requires more concentration than flying an FA/18 Hor

Firing them wouldn't harm them more than letting them destroy their lungs. And PPE requirements are commonly mandatory: you can't set foot in a construction area without a hardhat, no matter who you are.

By "sentient," do you mean able to experience qualia? Most people consider chickens sentient (otherwise animal cruelty wouldn't upset us, since we'd know they can't actually experience pain) - is it so hard to imagi
