It’s been a while. I tried to hack something like this together - without having done any android dev before - and I understand why it’s taking a while. It’s not as simple as I’d imagined it would be.

I’ve found from building a few Ryder machines now that while the CPU itself is amazing, the eco-system around it remains less polished than intel. Hopefully this changes with Zen 3 looking like an awesome consumer chip.

If a team doesn’t have the engineering know how to split a monolith into distinct services in a straightforward fashion, then I’m not sure that team will have the chops to start with microservices.

Man, I brought a few Cuban cigars into the US in 2018 and the border agent tore me a new one. Even my confused “But this is legal now...” went unheard until I got through the line to the real customs agent who wondered why I was wasting his

Was anyone else surprised by the timeline of this post? I was under the impression that Gitlab had been fully on K8S for years now, given the hard push of their K8S offering 18 months ago.

Were I to ask these questions in interview, I think I'd be looking for the candidate to have a bash, do some napkin math, come up with some contraints/failure modes and to communicate their assumptions well. > How do you make s

Fwiw, I've found that working on Java without IntelliJ to be a pain. Imo it's way more feature-rich than VSCode or Eclipse at this point.

Great advice! Addendum: if you feel shitty don't always presume it to be lifestyle related. Get blood tests and confirm.

A Ryzen 3600 is a different tier than a 4770k though. So you're effectively saying a mid-tier CPU today will handily beat a top tier CPU from 7 years ago.

Man, I really want to say we don't because of the implications of too centralised an internet, but there's no way it isn't a transitive dependency.

This feels like a straw man. Or maybe a false dichotomy. I think it's entirely possible to ensure code is testable before writing the test. It's also not unusual to tinker in a repl before encoding the functionality as a test. Pre
