> "Would you rather have someone pretend to listen, or to interrupt?" This is very interesting. In my experience, it applies especially to people who just can't. stop. talking. When someone gives you literally no chance to

I think this is exactly it. I liked working from home when I had a separate room for it and it saved me about an hour every day, but I've since moved to an apartment that's smaller, but also much closer to work, and I prefer the g

I recently had this hacker feeling too. I wanted to help my friend diagnose some internet issue at her place and gave her a Raspberry Pi that she could connect to her router. It had Tailscale preinstalled, so as soon as it booted, I was abl

Honest question about Elk (and I guess all other web clients): How do people use it when it doesn't remember your timeline position? When I open my Mastodon client, I want it to be where I left it, not at the top of the timeline. Maybe

It's very interesting how different people's definition of "chat" is. The comment above yours (at the time of reading this) says "Chat without history is such a waste", so the opposite of what you are saying. I

Me neither, but it works. Japanese cities, even Tokyo, are SO much cleaner than cities in Europe, it's ridiculous. (They do have public trash cans in every convenience store, by the way.)

I assume you need to use 1Password 8 in order for this to work? I "downgraded" (it felt much more like an upgrade) back to 1Password 7 and at the moment, I feel like I'd rather switch apps than go back to 1P8.

I have an HP EliteDesk Mini PC as a mini home server. It's doing a great job, but the fans get quite loud when under load. It's an older model though. If I had to replace it, I'd probably opt for some kind of similar devices,

I know I'd notice the difference and would strongly prefer 120Hz, but I still stay away from them for now because if I got a 120Hz monitor, I would also need to buy a new MacBook Pro to match the refresh rate. (Also not sure if the M1

I'm very curious about the Steam Deck (especially because it runs Linux), but it's just too big for my taste. There are other companies making very similar devices (which are often more powerful too) that are smaller (like Ayaneo

Does this make a difference? If I were to build a gaming PC based on Linux and Proton, would I need an Arch based distro to get that ~80% coverage?
