This is funny, the moment the absence of IP can benefit large companies it's just a fiction, a made up concept, not too serious at all. Of course you go onto the OpenAI corporate pitch page and it will proudly say "respects your

It's obviously not 30%, because on top of this you better pay for ads on your app name or have your competitor show up on searches for your app . I always had a mild smile for the tales of the "secure refined Apple store" bu

That's a good summary: someone else has paid for the roads, but won't for the rail.

That’s not really any different from how Airbus works (and explicitly so). But I learned that Boeing literally outsourced the fuselage and that makes you wonder if they are really fit to build airplanes…

That's an odd configuration, because having a 2.4 GHz network that all the shitty IoT devices can be on is one of the best remaining uses of that band.

It must be peak irony to write this on the topic of a Bitcoin ETF . None of the technology, all of the speculation.

It's funny, all the top talent, all the blog posts, yet sorry to say as everyone has long learned, streaming platforms are utter commodity and were not an unique advantage at all. All made up. They were always just a nice wrapping pape

Well, that's sort of the problem here right; yes at AWS retail you are paying $20 million a month for traffic, but the cost to AWS isn't anywhere near that, in fact how AWS charges for traffic doesn't match to how it incurs c

Indeed, self-hosted email is commonly rejected despite doing all these things. Google et al have successfully turned email into the domain of a few SaaS, and at half of them blatant spammers can message millions with no record of consent w

Maybe I have been too obscure in stating what’s going to happen: the oligopoly of SSD/RAM makers will collude explicitly or implicitly to cut production and raise prices. Because right know they are making a loss selling you a SSD, all

The infrastructure is bought from Amazon, who in turn own them. Makes you wonder if it’s actually unprofitable, on the whole.

Samsung just happens to be in commodity chip making. Don’t worry, the chip bosses will get together for a bottle of Soju, do some racketeering, SSDs and RAM will be expensive again but profits are going to be back.

To be fair it seems there is an image of some of the loose bolts: https://nitter.net/ByERussell/status/1744460136855294106 I think this should stick out to an assembly person as not quite right.

Don’t forget IT ignorance. A lot of places IT is full of Microsoft MVPs that have no understanding of the needs of people developing in and for Linux systems.

You are overthinking it. Some sysadmin copying the same cert into the chain twice because AWS is confusing and doesn’t care and OpenSSL doesn’t care isn’t resolving the grand problem of the trust graph, it’s just a loss overall, for everyon

Sorry, I have been imprecise and my knowledge somewhat outdated. The basic issue is above TDMA/OFDMA; unlicensed bands require that you have some mechanism to detect if the channel is in use before you begin transmission, to ensure you

There’s LTE-U and LAA but they are more about extending normal LTE at the cost of public bands. The basic problem is that LTE base stations assign time slots to devices when to access the spectrum - that doesn’t work well when by regulation

EU agriculture is an entirely pretend market heavily subsidized for self sustenance - few countries will depend on other states for basic foodstuff, no matter the price. Ukraine joining will not change that.
