4chan is more general instead of being focused on a domain as HN is. However, I do prefer a fully uncensored platform as I don't trust anyone's judgement but my own regarding content.

Of course. Any censorship is wrong, but he already knew that and decided to do it anyway out of fear and greed.

Many software companies spend money like they have no care in the world. Inflated salaries and all kinds of silly perks. Feels pointless to care about saving them money when they're going to hire Beyonce to be at the holiday party.

There's no requirement to report stats to the FBI and several municipalities and local sheriff's have stopped. The stats the FBI have are not a very accurate picture of reality.

I don't want to pay for basic news. It's a commodity. If there was a source for deeper analysis that I liked I'd consider paying for it. I used to do that but those sources all went crazy around 2016 and haven't recov

Yeah, same for me. H1B hires should not be approved under these conditions. That was allowed because there was a shortage of eligible citizens with these skills. There's now a glut and people with these skills are needing to take jo

No way to know for sure, but I'd guess the number of employed developers writing blogs and having personal projects is in the single digits. For developers with more than 20 years experience, I'd be surprised if it's even 1%

If the degree they grant you doesn't help you to get a job that can pay back the loan it cost to get the degree, how can it be said to be worth it? Certainly not in a financial sense.

Sounds like you'd find cars more 'usable' and don't need/use trucks for the unique things they offer, which is towing and hauling things bigger than groceries.

Today's 1/2 ton has the same capabilities as a 3/4 ton from 20 years ago. Payload, HP, torque. I own both. Objectively more usable.

This generation seems to love rules and forcing others to bend the knee. I don't get why, but it's highly offputting.

A proper interface to GIT. Beleive it or not, but before git we developed software just fine and spent close to zero time using or learning whatever tool was being used for source control. GIT requires the end user to know way too much ab
