Seems to be a US Navy thing ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655#Potential_... ). On a more serious note, there's a big difference between a vehicle like a car that is operated by one person, and a sh

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all, but it's still just victim blaming. People are run over on sidewalks, cyclists on cycling paths or just standing at red lights. There's basically only one type of road us

Something about correlation and causation comes to my mind. When you start an article listing all the known causes and they all relate to a high income (people in cities have more money, people in richer countries have more money, people wi

About flying cars, I don't think they are a solution to almost anything. First of all, they'd always need more energy because staying in the air doesn't come free. Lifting a whole car for the usual 1.2 people in it seems wast

The complicated part (visualising the number of passengers on the correct paths) was done well, but I'm really missing the simple part: Placing a little marker where the initial station is located.

Does 10 really have less ads and telemetry, though? 10 is still getting updates and a lot of annoying "features" seem to get back ported (like the "fact of the day" thing in the search bar that always opens Bing), and I&

I can only second this. I honestly had the best time of my (professional) life when I had a little room with the rest of my team. Asking quick questions in such an environment is also not that much of a disturbance because most people are w

As someone who has worked a lot with geo data and delivered them to end users, this here is just the tip of the iceberg. Languages are already quite political, but maps and all their borders and city names are much worse. Some borders are d

What the article doesn't mention, maybe because it's not a global thing yet, is that non-reclining seats have been introduced in the last year. On flights within Europe I haven't had a reclining seat in ages, no matter whethe

No, that's really not the case. Facebook's reputation is not good at all here (in Europe), whereas people are shilling for Apple all the time. It's just really nice to have a messenger that is not tied to a hardware platform,

I don't know why everbody keeps bringing this up. They could have called Windows 11 Windows 10 Gold Edition or whatever to keep the "10" in the name, but frankly we should all be thankful that they didn't.
