I have no idea what this article is trying to get across, but I can share one thing I use Instagram location search for: surf conditions. There are a few spots (that will remain nameless) I like to surf that are kinda in the middle of nowhe

As a counterpoint: I think this article is fantastic. API restrictions are incredibly annoying when they pertain to what I consider to be my data. Should data and interface be so tightly joined? Of course not.

Reading through the comments I'm enjoying thinking about this as an elaborate honeypot set up by a state actor for recruiting. Looking forward to the longform Wired article in a few years!

Would be great to just subscribe an RSS reader to these and see a single unified feed. Oh, wait.

These books were deeply influential to me while I was a student. They provide such a clear demonstration of how our image of the world is malleable. It's fantastic that they're now even more accessible.

This is great. I thought this would be a useful feature at one point, and then just figured it would probably never happen. Funny how any stream of notifications just turns into a todo list though. I wish I could just pipe them all to one

This is a great question. We haven't yet picked which galaxies to use, but they'll come from Tlon's allocation. You can find the whole list in here: https://github.com/urbit/arvo/blob/master&#

Oh, I misunderstood. Urbit just seems hard because it's weird. Having watched people learn the system, there are real advantages. Honestly writing documentation is just hard and we need to do a better job of it. We don't want to k

Let the HN record show: wyager and I are going to meet up at some point. I may or may not be able to convince him that Urbit is real — but civility prevails nonetheless!

When you look at it that way, it's pretty funny! But, the truth is, I'm actually sitting in an office working on Urbit. I'd invite you to come by for coffee or something, but the internet tells me you're in Austin. Wou

It's not a bad story, and writers are busy. It's tough to get a good scoop. Much easier if someone just hands it to you.

We had this argument in person! Or, at least we had a good chunk of it. It was cut short, and I think it's my fault for not re-initiating it. As you may remember, I'm really not the person to answer that question sufficiently.

Hello! I'm one of the Urbit devs. 1. Has this ever actually happened? I'd be quite disturbed by that. We're more than happy to have people learning about Urbit, although we're not particularly active on social media.

Yeah, I agree (and I worked a lot on the frontend). The site is hosted with the default frontend for Urbit — so it's built to do a lot more than what it's doing in this specific case. The links not opening on ctrl+click is ridicu
