I actually liked the Pocket on the New Tab page. I've found genuinely interesting articles that I wouldn't have come across otherwise. As long as they keep it non-political and simply informative, I am checking it out.

I interviewed at SpaceX and asked them what they use to write code that runs in the rocket. It's all plain C and everything must be declared before hand - in other words, there are no dynamic allocations anywhere in the code.

The author has some good points. But the solution he proposes - bringing back WPF with a bunch of features they didn't bother adding in the last 12 years - that sounds questionable to me. WPF wasn't really adopted the first time

I think the biggest impact is going to be felt with current generations of 18 year olds. My kid (about to be 18) has no interest in getting a driver's license and neither are any of his friends. He's happy to be taking Uber and

How did you measure the performance hit? And what version of Elastic did you test?

Allowing any company access to the last mile would be a start. They just pay rent to the line owner, just like it was back in the mid 90s.

CNN's bias is firmly anti-Trump and it doesn't fluctuates in any way, shape or form. You can go to their home page and at any point, there will be some anti-Trump headlines.

I disagree. The IE6 of today is IE11, not Safari. Just look caniuse.come for practically any modern feature. It either requires you to pollute your code base with polyfills or doesn't work at all. Every day bring another fun barrie

I had the exact opposite experience. I found jQuery Mobile to be very cohesive and simple to use. And the documentation was pretty much on the spot.

If you have to support IE - their implementation is different from the rest. And by different, I mean they are compliant with an earlier spec of CSS Grid. It is very likely not to work. The evergreen browsers (chrome, ff, edge, safari, etc

Wow, I was about to dismiss your comment because one would have to be some sort of sadomasochist to actually seek out IE 11 on a Windows 10 machine and use it on purpose. But according to Netmarketshare, fully 7% of Windows 10 users use IE.

It's similar if you look skin deep. Differences emerge once you start using it on daily basis. The coolest thing FF has over Chrome is the little [ev] icon next to an element that shows what events are connected to it. Saves me lots

Will never know. Keep in mind that only 28.5% of voters participated in primaries, so I am not sure the open primaries reasoning holds water. Plus, Trump also won more primaries when they were open. Precisely twice as often. https:/

The conventional wisdom is that Bernie would have won the general election. I disagree with that - it's wishful thinking. His ideas might be palatable inside the democratic party, but I think he would have hard time pushing his ideas

The big elephant in the room that no one wants to touch is the massive immigration to San Francisco Bay Area from all over the world. The population stands at 7.68 million. Just in 2010 it was 7.1 mil. And in 2000, it was 6.7 million.
