Blur by Albine[1] has been my preferred anonymizer. Though my main appeal is the burner credit cards. [1] https://www.abine.com/index.html

Not unless you use something like pfsense on freed or mostly free hardware (many of us do this).

Scissors are tools, just like our IDE's. There's a lot to be said about the craftsman. At the end of the day we're all of the same breed, but we find code, cloth, or metal to be our medium.

Why do you think Apple would develop an x86 chip over other architectures?

Purism's Librem 13. Everything works great out of the box on Manjaro including the trackpad. Size isn't exactly up to Apples though, if you're using later models. Last Macbook I used was a 2012 15 inch MBP.

Said it below, but the APU2 does support AES-NI. I wanted to make sure you saw this.

The APU2 does have AES-NI so no need to worry. Mine is active and working (I use it with OpenVPN right now).

Not OP but I run a PC Engines APU2[1] as my pfsense box. It's 6-10 watts. Updates are easy to manage, I use Pfblocker which is similar functionality to PiHole, and have cloudflares DNS (1.1.1.1) set up. As for wireless I attach a Ubiqu

This price is great compared to the dual socket Talos 2 I just received. I'm hopeful this will bring more developers to the table.

I'm hoping the Librem 5 succeeds. I think disabling the baseband would be a solve and at least slightly more trustworthy than airplane mode. Right now I think you're right, there's no defending against it without turning off

Librem 13 is pretty good so far. I just moved from my x230 (FHD mod, coreboot, and x220 keyboard) and the only thing I miss is the trackpoint so far.

The only thing that holds back my personal slack groups from moving to Riot is Slacks under message reactions (especially the custom ones). I did see there was an issue opened for it on github, but can't seem to find it now.

I purchased one for the openness/privacy and for an alternative to x86. Currently my stack is entirely x86, though I have taken the time to purchase hardware that is freeable/mostly free (ASUS KGPE-D16/8, x200, and librem 13)

I wonder if it's more secure than a cellular company against social engineering. This seems like a good way to protect having your phone number hijacked for 2FA.

You're absolutely right about the performance. The good thing about going to the T430 is because it has the later Intel Ivy Bridge (as opposed to the Sandy Bridge) processors. The Ivy Bridge / newer chip sets brought USB 3.0 with

T420. But to go off your list here a bit I'd say bump up to the T430. i7 versions can be had on eBay for $250. If you have an attachment to the keyboard on the T420[1] you can easily buy the keyboard and put it on the T430 (I did this

Had a Lemur 14" about 5 years ago. Out of the box - Ubuntu support was very good but the battery life was poor (sort of expected at the time), build quality okay but not comparable to the 2012 Macbook Pro's, and the speakers were
