Overall the response is appealing to the "fear" message: "We live in a dangerous world. We continue to face grave security threats like terrorism, cyber-attacks" The fear message is the primary tool authoritarian regimes

From what I've gathered throughout discussions[1], React has seen some experiments with RxJS Observables (or something inspired by Observables), but they want to avoid the learning curve associated with reactive programming, keeping Re

I have written Kotlin for an Android app now in production. Having written plenty of Java for Android, Kotlin is really good. It feels like Java in some ways, but helps you more than gets in your way. Nullable/non-null features crush N

"Reading like Java" is the last comment I would expect to hear. There aren't even classes in Cycle.js apps, mainly functions and Observables. Anyway, waiting for some informed feedback as opposed to immediate gripes.

How do you see the API as messy and complex? It is just `run()` and `DOM.get(selector, eventType)`.

Redux is a major improvement over Flux libraries because it removes a lot of boilerplate while not removing functionality (in fact, enabling more features). In Flux libraries, it's common for an entity to take inputs and simply produce

If you can wrap the React component as a Web Component, that would be the best format for interop in Cycle (it supports WCs out of the box). However, this also exists: https://github.com/pH200/cycle-react

With RxJS, you can compose with existing Promise-based libraries, solve asynchronous programming (and error handling) in an elegant fashion with code that looks like simple linear chains (or DAGs) of Observables, and you don't need to

I use a simple example of how Rx (not FRP, that's something completely different) benefits in programming: the traditional use case of analytics events is to spread Analytics.sendEvent() calls in many places of your codebase. Using Rx
