You're forgetting the likelihood that such a lawsuit will be brought. Which isn't very high.

I didn't redefine anything. I pointed out that the "median wage of all wages" does not add anything in the discussion when we're talking about skilled labor. Trying to compare skilled labor wages to all labor wages of co

That median salary includes fast food workers and other low/non skilled positions. Comparing our profession against that is dishonest.

"People in our industry are already making far above the median" The median also includes lots of low/non skilled positions. I really don't care how I'm doing compared to that

I fail to see how that's any better. Sure, the direct boss is no longer to blame, but the company as a whole still looks crappy.

Honestly, it shouldn't matter. If the boss is making an offer like that, then it should be good as gold. If it's not, then that is not a place one would want to be working.

I don't see how that makes things any better or more excusable.

When has something being illegal stopped a company from doing something that could save and/or make it more money?

In theory? Not much. In reality? For one, that's a lot of work, especially to screw someone who did a decent job (presumably), who's compensation probably is a drop in the bucket compared to the stock price, and, let's be hon

So why not make the golden parachute "if we get acquired, you get this" instead of "if you get fired, you get this".

But in terms of having money, it is. You now have $1MM to do stuff with, whereas before, you didn't. That $1MM can be put to work, or used to buy better tools or hire better employees. That's something you couldn't do when yo

I don't think so. If the lawyer pool is so terrible, there will be people with incentive to fix it, and those fixes will benefit everyone, rather than the few it benefits now.
