Bought a quite expensive Liebherr three years ago. Had some trouble with the ice-maker, but they sent a technician who solved it. Works since then without problems. Does someone have bad experiences with Liebherr?

Got a nice blue Bosch in 1997 - works flawlessly since then (got a little louder this year - hope that‘s not a bad sign).

I found the caption misleading. This article describes the dreadful ramifications of error(s) in a complex IT system. What it falls short of are details on the hows.

Is it really happyness we should strive for? I hear this over and over without anyone challenging this. Maybe a meaningful live is more fulfilling than a happy one? If i remember Nitzsche correctly: „No one strives for happiness - only the

And it’s fun too: The new phone is usually way better than the old one! The only downside is, that for 2 out of 4-5 years, the quality of my fotos are not state-of-the-art.

Maybe, but are they rich because they do it, or the other way around? Buying quality stuff is possible without being rich: Most of my friends in school had their fourth walkman before i had my first one (worked for 30+ years btw).

Interesting - didn‘t notice that. I‘m only buying quality stuff and stick to it as long a possible. Most of my cloth are years old. I’m buying a new iPhone if the one i have doesn’t get any updates anymore, and furniture has to outlive me.

We built some pretty big applications with VB6 (heavily optimized by using WinAPI-Calls and C++-libs where necessary). Nothing what came later matched development speed (although some langs using REPLs may come close). Whoever designed VB.N

Did all of that for more than 30 years now (ok, there weren’t any groups back then). Didn‘t help much I think. Ok for me - i did what i wanted to do - but perhaps government should start to do something too?

As far as i know the tesla car has its own spotify account. So this only works, if you’re the only one driving your car. In my family up to five people drive a car - I don’t think i want one spotify-account used by five people.

Impressing tec! But i never liked make-up or understood why people pay plastic surgeons to ruin their perfectly nice and authentic faces. It kind of makes people artificial and way less interesting. So this is lost on me.

As always - I don’t get it. People talk about AI‘s motives as if it is a given, that it will have them. As i know us, our first AI that will really change the world, will do this in unexpected ways, driven by unforseen decisions, without a

Never heard of this term. What is „shock media“? I also fail to see what part of this blogpost qualifies as „fear mongering“. What am I missing? Is „You will die“ a shocking message, or does induce fear? I thought it is just true.

Autocrats want to survive, yes. So if there’s an economic crisis, they like to distract people. Blaming minorities works as well a starting a war. Look up Idi Amin as an example par excellence!

If we know of those six tipping-points, how many are there we don‘t know of? How can it be, that we are so careless with a system so volatile?

And in addition to the fight against vested interests, we have to invest a lot of energy against stupidity and to jump through artificial loops set up by lawyers, administrators and managers. Which leaves so litte to actually do something!
