Who came up with this pyramid? And why should technologies of the self be at the top? I feel like identity should be much lower and is much more fundamental but the way the internet was constructed it was missed. Or it was never built for “

There was a HN thread months ago on this topic. I recall people suggesting well known github repo’s. I’m unsure which ones but you could start at github…

In my experience I’ve found (1) some teams don’t embrace it, (2) some teams don’t break down large tasks or (3) it’s not suited to the work. Each of these result in your rolling sprint. I absolutely hate seeing buzzwords for the sake of the

People at the top like control. They want to have the power, not you, sitting at home doing stuff they can’t see. That is all.

It’s tough. One of the toughest things to balance. I’d suggest be a present dad for a few years at least and let work take a back seat. You can always focus on that more once the kid is in school. This is what I’ve done. I don’t feel guilty

Well this seems like a useful tool. I had considered doing something similar at one point - to show significant share holders of public companies. Good job! I’ll try it out

Yes! There are so many use cases where a false alternate option is given as part of reasoning why the given solution is ok, often the only option is accept this or stop using it. This is why users don’t complain about e.g. privacy tracking.

I think the common answer is “think of where you want your career to go, and consider if this other role is a good step in that direction” But in practice it seems increasingly obvious that we don’t have a single golden career goal… many or

This is such an insightful comment - it’s exactly the kind of examples that wealthy (or even regular) people wouldn’t grasp without having lived through it themselves.

The Science journal article has a lot of information if you click through. I don’t see in the results section any conclusion that users “hate” chronological feeds. Their results say things like less engagement and clicks, less time spent in

I suppose it depends what type of code you’re developing but in general I’d expect a dev environment and unit tests, then a test environment and integration tests, a staging environment and UAT (or UAT in Test) and then production. Test or
