Are you sure about this? Lenovo, Dell and Acer all put big LiIon warning/danger stickers on their laptop boxes when shipping. Are they doing this voluntarily? Some of the batteries are removable, but others aren't. Maybe it's

Interesting, I hadn't heard about that. In the case of Mario 64 though, many of the models and polygons didn't have textures but used super-simple single-color flat shading. So texture fill rate wouldn't not have been a const

That's not the point. Both of the other uses are for open source projects, so there is plenty potential for confusion. Chromium is also an element, but if I named a third OSS project "Chromium" (first: [1], second: [2]), I be

It's a fork of the original Dokan (which you are referencing), that has been under active development for at least a year now (I came across it a year or so back).

AMD64 is, as far as I know, not a standard. Even if it was, being a standard does not mean that it is free, easy and legal for others to implement. Some standard bodies require a patent sharing agreement or licenses being provided for a &qu

Intel ME is a step beyond UEFI, so this kind of bug, while bad in UEFI, would be much worse if found in Intel ME.

I was thinking the same thing. Many big open source projects are "entrusted" to Apache after their funding/support is cut off. Why is Apache taking these up / wasting time on them? So far all of them have died shortly af

There's no such thing as an Intel HD 4440, there's the common 4000 and 4400, and the less common 4200 and 4600. There are no other entries in the 4xxx series of Intel HD as far as I know. So likely, your brother has a 4400.

Judging by the number of car hacks through OBD-II lately, it sure sounds like a great idea to connect an always on, internet connected android phone with some dubious software to the OBD interface of your car!

This kind of thing was baked into the Linux driver for the AMD Radeon HD6310 on a netbook I bought in 2010. It was very unpleasant and impossible to disable. Later drivers did not seem to have that feature.
