I'm a ~30K MRR indie hacker, and 10y backend developer. I 100% confirm everything he said, but I too agree the most important features all came from talking with users/prospects/customers. I'm shit at it, but the mantra

Sorry this is a bit tangential, but: I had the same problem of slow builds like you, but instead of throwing hardware at it, I moved from Typescript to modern Python 3.10 with all new features and type hints. I enjoy a really fast developme

Very nice! Not sure this would fly here in Europe though: operators are obligated to verify your identity (passport/Id card required) before assigning an (e)SIM to your contract. So in order to assign eSIM you qualify as a VMNO?

Cool, how do you protect this kind of service from DoS attacks? Any client fingerprinting to avoid banal curl in a for loops?

Because I already had in mind to create the custom Flask app as a self service subscription management portal for my customers, and while I was coding it, I had this a-ha moment when I discovered admin staff could just be using the same app

Sure! Here is my self-hosted setup (actually ends up being more like ~$1100/month savings, not 2K. I overestimated it! 1x Hetzner CPX31 VPS: 4 VCPU, 8GB RAM, 160GB DISK (~$15/m) --- * Mailchimp ~95$/m -> Listmonk + Mailgu

Nice way to outsource tech research. As an indie hacker creating new products, and reducing tech debt of older, stable products, scouting for the right tech tools (CMS, CI, cloud services, libraries, etc) represents ~40% of my time. And 90
