10/8 is a class A range (high order bit = 0), but CIDR says that you can separately describe which bits are for the network. Unless this interview was conducted more than 20 years ago I'd say your interviewer was mistaken.

I'm still a bit confused as to the facts here, but it seems this is about the client software having access to data via apis authenticated with user credentials. If it's the software acting on the client's behalf, I don'

Any advice for finding a job in that area? The HN "who's hiring" page doesn't have too much in NC, and other job sites seem to show mostly finance and consulting companies.

Except for Gorsuch, who is new, the same justices ruled to throw out the Voting Rights Act coverage formula because they felt the criteria set 40 years ago was too old. There's no blind interpretation of the law, justices make a decisi

My son was also tested for Cystic Fibrosis but in MA, to my knowledge his DNA isn't stored. I think CF is standard screening in all states, this website has a state-by-state list: http://www.babysfirsttest.org/newborn-s

I regret posting this comment now that the article states a woman died. It looks like I'm no longer able to edit/delete it. Originally it was told to be a dramatic but otherwise inconsequential event.

There was a study[1] where a plane was deliberately crashed into the Sonoran Desert, and in it they found the front of the cabin experienced much higher g-forces than those in the rear. There's also an interesting blog by a UK Professo

If I have an IRC service that shows quotes from people and has 'last seen' functionality is that covered by GDPR? Some of the users are from EU countries, does that mean those features need to be turned off or have some sort of ac

I'm not sure if there was miscommunication or what, but Google has had teams that do this for a while now. I typically hear them referred to as orange teams.

I've had this happen to me so many times. It's insane that driving laws aren't strict in proportion to how much damage an irresponsible driver can inflict.

If you're let go for being too old, and no other company will hire you because of your age, would you feel the same way? If so is it just age you're comfortable with as a vertical for discrimination?

What restitution can there be in this case? Nothing can compensate this person for the loss of their life, or the two children who will grow up without a father. The guy who made the false report had done so previously with a bomb threat, a
