Personally I prefer a simple feedback system that kicks out bad drivers to confrontation and a need to call 911. Not to mention that there's quite a gap between good service and service that complied with the law. If a driver is rude,

You're arguing a collective good but many opponents of globalization are looking at it from an individual rather than collective point of view.

I had the same experience when I went to create a small recording studio for my wife. I figured I'd use garage band on a Mac Mini and connect the mixer to that. I changed my plans after going to Apple's website - I don't want

If each team controls hiring you will end up with teams that have different standards for hiring. That implies that internal transfers will also need "re-hiring". It also implies that compensation may need to vary between teams. I

I used to just use the Windows "Update driver" dialog to manually find nvlddmkm.sys and install it that way to avoid the bloat. I haven't used Windows in a while but it may still be possible.

I lived in Capitol Hill from around 2008-2014 and from what I recall the resistance to Apodments wasn't due to disdain for the working poor. It was that these companies skirted laws by taking advantage of a dwelling being defined by ha

The HTTP/2 protocol negotiation happens with ALPN, which is a part of TLS. It's possible to simply not negotiate or find another means, but in practice there are many proxies on the Internet that assume all port 80 traffic is HTTP

Money alone doesn't win a lawsuit. The reporter who wrote this probably doesn't agree with the court's decision, but that decision wasn't written by Thiel or Silicon Valley. Also, people have crowd-funded legal fees prev

System level integration tests also tend to be more flaky. Both unit and integration tests are useful. Unit tests are also pretty quick to write once you have the mocking setup.

You're assuming a large overlap between top 10% income and top 10% wealth. I'm not able to find great data on this, with most sources just focusing on one or the other. It seems to me though that many of the wealthiest individuals

The consolidation loan rate was the weighted average of the loans consolidated, so it didn't offer any benefit beyond making the rate fixed. I think the rate ended up being ~5.5%. Consolidation loans also offer a longer repayment timef
