More real-life cases. The classic cases like compilers are covered enough, but I think we could use more examples in a wider range of domains. For those who use it, I think it feels like second nature and perhaps even "it's not a

Tarsnap user here and I second your love of its pricing model. Business folks don't seem to like it though and prefer the bucket model. I think love for this model stems from an engineering mindset where we're happiest aligning ou

If I understand what you're saying, you're asking to not confuse mathematical communication with actually doing mathematics ... sort of how Ramanujan was doing amazing math but in a way that wasn't communicable to the convent

I'm fine with my commit flow and commenting, which perhaps helps. I do use orphaned dirty branches. It helps that fossil's tags are reusable, unlike git's. For me, there've been cases where I've worked on an angle,

The question of whether my storage mechanism fits budget is more relevant, no? It costs less than 4cents per hour to store 1TB on S3 but an X1 with 1TB of RAM costs $13 or so per hour on Aws. So the issue is whether what you pay for is wort

Much of such discussions demonize the company, but we need to look broader. Google is a public company and its shareholders, since they share the company, are also to be pointed out. Discouraging such behaviour is better done by the shareho

This has me really intrigued and I've been on to workflowy and a smattering of org-mode for over a decade now. Consistency is more important to me than optimality and workflowy has served me well for that. Reading on interestedly ..
