I agree with you, my friends and I were discussing this a few days ago on how the valley has become synonymous with being the area where everyone knows what's best for the entire country, probably the entire world. It's gotten so

Lol, I'm from Mississauga too - We were your competitors; www.blip.delivery and worked with lots of construction companies in Toronto who wanted to do same-day deliveries. I ended up selling the company to a customer, but it's rea

The reinforcement learning ones are SO common. When I worked on autonomous tech a while ago, I remember constantly trying to tweak my reward function because of the agent learning that avoiding obstacles was a high enough reward in itself,

Perhaps not, but the part of our brain responsible for optimizing contentment would ideally prefer deleting traumatic memories

I was just giving you an example of memories that would not be evolutionary beneficial to retain. Obviously that ex gf/suicide was an anecdote to our imperfect memory retention, and has nothing to do with evolution

That's interesting.. so you mean that human memory is not bugged and perfect from an evolutionary perspective? Isn't it also arguable that retention of trauma is inherently bad from an evolutionary perspective? Let's say some

Depends on the traumatic memory, hence the idea that we've probably optimized for remembering everything rather than the events that have evolutionary advantage. I.e Why should I remember a bad ex girlfriend if there was nothing to lea

Nature of the industry I'd say.. Cost for eg is a big factor; Hardware inherently requires money to build (materials etc), while software is just an investment of time. I suppose it's a direct mapping of human nature, where we inh

Stripe is really nice if you have a discount code for the first xxx$. I found it really expensive without a promo code @2.9% or something around that depending on volume

Working on AI right now; Gonna do a startup based around arguably the worst problem to have when trying to build a neural network from scratch; Choosing the architecture of the net itself. It's super cumbersome, and you can often go da
