(I am the CEO of Zoho) Let me provide some context on this. What we are doing is to separate the two layers in a database that have traditionally been so welded together that you don't even think of them as two layers: the SQL processing "l

I would agree if you said "most economists" instead of "all". On the minimum wage, a couple of Princeton economists wrote a scholarly paper pointing out how that didn't suppress hiring (sorry, don't have a handy reference) or increase unemp

I had the same thought as Mark Cuban. A PhD in Economics, even winning the Nobel Prize (see my critique of Krugman) doesn't give you the real world feel that starting and running a business does. Economics is full of unintended consequences

I believe we need a "converse of Lisp" - in Lisp code is data, I believe what we need is the notion "data replaces (most) code". That leads to the question, what really is data, and I believe Codd supplies the best answer to that question.

Alas, everything I wrote is true, it exactly happened the way I describe in my post. To be honest, I haven't seen a platform with as myopic a strategy as Salesforce, not from Microsoft, not from Google, not from Facebook, not by a long shot

Recently, Bernanke seems to have come around to accepting that asset prices are important to monetary policy, breaking a long-held Fed orthodoxy, dating back to Greenspan. Contrast his speech in 2002, where he outlines the"don't burst a bub

The Austrians are right to condemn the fractional reserve policies that caused MZM to get so big. But the only thing the Fed can do now is to printing money to make the two match, and then make sure it never happens again. To even have th

Jason, thanks for the complement and the criticism. To clarify a couple of points: Zoho CRM has nothing do with SugarCRM code. It is entirely written in Java - just as all the rest of the Zoho suite, in fact, it shares the same underlying
