Is there something like a GUI that generates .asoundrc files? The syntax is not exactly intuitive.

There is no such thing as a window manager on Wayland. Everything is baked into one centralized "compositor". AFAIK some compositors like Weston offer a non-standardized plug-in interface that allows a 3rd party to implement a win

I would assume that there is a proper damage protocol in place that would move a "millions of pixels" only when there is an actual change. The only way to avoid that is to give applications direct access to the front buffer and us

The problem is not that the technologies are opt-in. The problem is that there is no simple UI implementation at this point in time. In the end any anonymized Lightning Wallet transaction will be just as simple as scanning a QR code with a

The Lightning network in conjunction with Tor will make tracing of transactions nearly impossible in the future. However right now the technology to properly anonymize bitcoin already exists via coinjoin wallets. The most mature implementat

Obviously yes. But depending on your distribution or locale settings you might have to launch the uxterm[1] wrapper instead of xterm if it doesn't work out of the box. 1.: https://invisible-island.net/xterm/manpage

This! We have to switch to decentralized open source solutions. I have tested Jami and the video conferencing functionality works great on Android.

No it is not the same thing because in the hypothetical Xephyr case the client doesn't need to know who or what executes the rendering command. The client also doesn't have to implement its own rendering as a fallback.

X11 has a strong reference implementation hence there should be no need for a fallback. If you really would want to launch a program which needs the new protocol on an old/outdated server for whatever reason you could use a wrapper lik

The only correct answer is to switch to decentralized solutions like namecoin. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Any "formal investigation" will be a temporary fix at best. ICANN can do what it wants and it always will.

Xwayland is more of a hack if anything. Half of the programs don't work because the security model of Wayland is fundamentally different than that of X11. E.g. Xeyes won't follow the mouse cursor because Wayland developers decided

That is exactly how the economy works. Demand and supply. Oversupply in labor results directly in diminishing incomes and the ability of employers to be extremely picky about who to hire (e.g. like you said nobody over 30).

How is this better than Namecoin? Namecoin has the unique advantage that you can do merged mining with Bitcoin which would make the network as secure as Bitcoin without further waste of resources.
