back in the 80s CMU had an editor called "gnome" that also had the syntax built in and so you could not make a syntax error: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~pane/ftp/ILE.pdf i can't say i was a fan of using

Beaker is mostly compatible, and has an import feature, so you can open and run an IPython notebook as a Beaker Notebook.

Beaker supports multiple languages at the same time in the same notebook, and the code can communicate. You can set a variable in one language, and read it in another language, and it just works, magically.

the intention doesn't happen when the "run" button is pressed, it happens when the program is written. unless it's an AI program and then I think it is back to passing "expressive individuality" with extra cred

yes, love to play, and love to teach. play mostly on KGS (4k), teach in person, whoever will sit still ;) similarly, i find it hard to play other games because they seem silly by comparison.
