I'm sure you've seen teams that have bad leadership / a culture of dysfunction. They're always asking for more headcount and no much how much you add they don't get any better. I assume parent was pointing out that

I came on to say much the same thing: a lot of authorization policies are very basic "is this a request by an authenticated user or service." But I also think the fact that they both get abbreviated to "auth" also causes

They run k8s on borg. From what I can tell as someone that worked a lot on early k8s and a large GCP customer they still use borg mostly internally. k8s is their path to creating cloud portability and neutralizing AWS "network"

In my mind, the more generic rule underneath these rules is you want to be able to comprehend what a unit is doing without jumping between a massive number or files or contexts. Inheritance hierarchies with shared state and overrides means

I don't know how the challenges with cooperative (no-preemptive) multitasking keep needing to get rediscovered. Even golang, which I consider a very responsibly designed language, went with cooperative at first until they were forced

As someone that got a lot of value out of client side load balancers as a language neutral network library (e.g. we ran envoy under synapse for a while) From the start the Istio design choices tended to address problems we didn't have

I started at "oh boy this is gonna be bad for docusign" but after thinking about it I assume Docusign is removing any filled form fields / actual values and just training on the contract structure sans actual values. So all

I wish the concept of dev mode and prod mode were baked deeper into all language runtimes/libraries. e.g. before going to production with real users these cases should error as hard as possible, including potentially logging crashing t

Your comment is a misguided attempt to point out that even if we have safe cars we still have cars with all of their challenges around noise and other inherent dangers and problems. Hope you do better next time.

I'm pretty sure that is a property of the word2vec embeddings. I'm not 100% sure if the embeddings/hidden states in LLM's have the same property but my guess would be they do.
