You clearly think very highly of CS grad students :) I've met a few that couldn't code let alone write proper tests, even though their foci were not policy or say the lighter side of user experience.

Interestingly, I've avoided using Facebook as much as possible. I keep the profile alive because my siblings expect me to have one and tag me in stupid things I don't allow to actually show up on my wall. I actually log in maybe o

Stackoverflow is a good language resource for me -- if I don't know the language I'm working in as well yet, it's invaluable. For non-beginner questions I don't find your percentages to be accurate, apologies. In the lat

Being too clever for your own good and writing wonderfully elegant code that randomly breaks on some other engineer who doesn't know you long after you have left the company. Surprise tire fire!

Yeah I'm finding it's basically impossible to purchase a house inside the city limits. Last weekend I saw an 850k two bedroom cottage on a half acre in Boulder, and a three bedroom (nearly twice as large, had a full basement) hous

There are a lot of people for whom "math" means just the algorithmic computation drudgery they teach you to vomit out on exams by pouring it down a funnel into you in an ordinary American high school or UK A-levels math course. Do

CDN's tend to block Tor. A lot of the Web is stood up behind one CDN or another. Cloudflare is the one that sticks out to me. But then again, a lot of people do use Tor to do stupid shit like DDoS or run C&C for botnets. So my th
