The value of the long rich history is just in how much people respect it. There are 20 year old brands more prestigious than hundred year old brands... no reason a one-year-old brand can't be worth more still. And I don't see why

Does being rich make people go crazy? And think that nothing can happen to them? I wouldn't even type this kind of thing into a private Google Doc, let alone send a mass email.

Why do people pay lots money for a regular shirt that has a particular logo on it? I don’t know either but I know that if you can make it happen you get rich.

Right now in America there is a strong correlation between IQ and income and strong inverse correlation between income and fertility.

If I can’t service the vehicle then don’t try to sell it to me, just lease it to me. I’d happily lease a non-serviceable vehicle as long as it had an all inclusive service contract for the lease duration.

The furries can and do write Winnie the Pooh stories today. Nobody will stop them because those stories didn't have any sizable income potential to begin with. They live on furry web sites that don't catch the attention of IP lawy

Japan is sui generis - if you don't really want to become "of Japan" I can't see a good reason to go there for more than a short sabbatical.

Yes but the knowledge of how it was created affects how I see it. If it’s just denoising etc it feels different than if I know it’s painted in some other data.

That might be good for myself, or if I’m honest even my wife, but my daughter looks perfect to me and I only want to see her in reality.

Yikes, the guy has reached the pinnacle of success and then had his fall from grace by age 35. Wonder what the rest of his life will be like.

But it’s also just weird. That’s not my daughter’s skin in the photo, it’s 1000 other people’s skin blended together and textured in.

Nothing. But if you needed water to stay alive and it was $1,000 a bottle you may have no way of getting it. If you needed water to say alive and it was 100 credits a bottle you would at least have the option of getting the water or selling

I get a lot of value from personal data that has been stored for decades. I recently went to buy a book on Amazon and Amazon told me I had bought this book 10+ years ago. Sure enough I looked on my shelves and found it.

If a large deal ($25,000+), this is only the case with the largest tech companies (most customers would order $25k of Apple products online but not buy new expense management software without a call).

I don’t think it’s so complicated. It’s more that everyone in a sales oriented profession knows that phone calls are where deals get done. Almost impossible to close a deal over email.
