Intel embraced Linux when they bet big in datacenters in early 2002. The momentum they got from there, with Linux dominating the sector, made them realize how much of a benefit it is to have a free software stack. With Linux they were able

It's quite easy to get a running Nvidia Optimus setup nowadays. Just go through arch wiki if on X, and just use drivers >560 for Wayland. Is there anything I'm not in the loop or?

Let's not promote divisions. Unless you meant: "people should stop using social media in which there are monetary incentives to be sensationalist", which I definitely agree on. I would love if we had more civilized discussion

It wasn't even the real Turing test but a lesser version of it. I'm hopeful about uses of this tech, but companies need to be more honest unless they want a second winter. The incentives don't align with honesty though.

Why aren't the open source models like this then? Seems like it would've already happened. To me, at least, the guardrails are there for both the human and the bot. Without them the bot steers too far out of the conversation subje

If your website is full of divs generated by JS that are full of aria tags that make no sense, those tools don't have a chance. Most websites act this way as well. Even Facebook used to lock people out of their messages if you couldn&#

This kind of perspective exemplifies how mediocre most companies become if they don't value being a well oiled machine. Someone said it here, but all engineering work is glue work. Might as well value those thinking smarter about it.

If a country does not strive to make good use of all its land and attempt to better the lives of its people why are there wars? Clearly they're fine with their top 3 cities. /s Seriously, you see this in any country of any size. R

Imagine being able to experience a place that no longer exists. Close to my hometown there was a dam made that completely changed the landscape. But a museum reconstructed as best as they could the area so one can still see it as it was in

Yup, basically that. Furthermore, you are unable to export the meshes themselves. You are better off using Google Maps API if I'm being honest.

The issue really isn't opt-in itself but how the option is presented. I agree that a lot of people don't read, or attempt to understand the UI being presented to them in any meaningful manner. It really is frustrating seeing that

To be fair they forked KHTML to make WebKit. Even if they wanted, they needed to remain open source. Same with Blink (Chromium), a lot of shared history there. But that would take way too long to explain.

I've also found that not having some optimization mindset from the get go limits your product to achieve only a local maxima of performance in the end. It might not even be a good local maxima. It's best to have at least some opti

There are libraries that communicate with screen readers of every platform. Of course, you need to think where the text comes from and all so it scales with your app, but it really is a non issue in the end. (edit: focusing in text having &

There is microui if you want another one. Much more barebones as the name implies, but very easy to extend! Pleasant even if a bit quirky. Also nuklear, but haven't really gone much in depth with it.

The focus for this library is something else entirely which doesn't seem to align with your needs. Nevertheless, you are supposed to make the engine yourself, imgui is made to be bolted on top of that. And does a great a job.

The paper hints that these are indeed generated from pre-existing meshes. The language isn't super clear about it, but they are. I've tried mesh anything v2 in the past, which is mentioned in the prior art, and it never succeeded
